Our Most Modern Fire Pit Yet

Sometimes a project comes along that takes our breath away, and this was definitely one of those times. It is the perfect reflection of creating an outdoor space that is YOU. Picture this: a sleek patio, a modern fire pit, gorgeous planters, a natural stone walkway, and a stunning pergola- all nestled right next to a picturesque stretch of woods right outside of Pittsburgh. And yes, we topped it all off with a fresh layer of mulch to tie everything together. It's like stepping into a backyard dream.
The Vision
Our Client came to us with a high-tech home that's already a standout in the neighborhood. They wanted their outdoor space to reflect the modern vibe of their house to relax with friends while still blending in seamlessly with the natural beauty of their view. Challenge accepted!
The Details
First, we built a clean and contemporary patio that anchors the entire space. The lines are sharp, the materials are high-quality, and the overall look stunning with the color on point. Sitting right in the middle of the patio is the star of the show: a sleek, modern fire pit that's perfect for cozy evening or late-night conversations with drinks in hand under the stars.
From there, we added some natural flagstone steppers to connect the existing deck to the patio. The stones are rugged and organic, creating the perfect balance between modern design and nature, a nod to North Park since this modern home is just minutes away from this Pittsburgh favorite. It's like a little path inviting you into a tranquil outdoor oasis.
Oh, let's talk about the pergola. We didn't build it (we would've loved to), but we blended our design with it perfectly. When we saw this property, we knew that this pergola was begging to be situated next to a sleek patio and fire pit. This beauty overlooks the view, offering a little bit of shade during the day and, with the installed lights, an intimate feel at night. Whether you're hosting friends or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, it's the ideal spot to relax and soak in the scenery.
The Finishing Touch
To bring it all together, we took modern planters and added beautiful, overflowing plants to create a semi-border as well as natural boulders around the patio and pergola. To top it all off, we spread a fresh layer of premium double shredded black mulch along the edges and a fresh clean-up and installation for the rest of the mulch beds around the house, adding a polished, cohesive look to the entire space. It's those small details that make a big difference, right?
